Ice Cream and Waterfalls!

Updated: Oct 23, 2020

9th February 2019

So Grandma (my Mum) has arrived from the USA for her annual month long holiday with us. The kids are always blasting to get and do things but we thought it would be kinda for Grandma after her 25 hour journey to do a slow paced activity locally, so of course Froggies is the obvious choice - Ice cream! Froggies is a super fruit and veg store in Waiuku that also sells yummy cheese, breads, coffee and ice cream! It is $2.50 for a single scoop in a waffle cone, firm favourites are liquorice allsorts, maple walnut and butterscotch pecan...makes my mouth water just thiking about it!!!

After chatting to friends that just happened to be there at the same time (always happens!) we headed to Waitangi Falls, a firm favourite of ours. The waterfall was quite slow due to the lack of rain but could alway spend time sitting in the log at the bottom and comtemplate life! The kids however prefer to be rolling down the hill or throwing stones into the water to see who can make the biggest splash! When the tide is low you can do a short walk from the bottom of the hill around the waters edge but just sitting was perfect for us today!
